Established in 1977 and headquartered in Dallas, TX, Colonial Oaks Senior Living is a 42-year-old best-in-class senior living owner / operator / developer whose leadership team has a combined 120+ years of experience in the senior living industry. The team is committed to growing the company through strategic acquisitions and new developments. The company currently operates 9 assets and 630 beds in Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico and Kansas.
Voralto Living was established long before “senior living” was even recognized as an industry, and prior to when the large, publicly-traded operators (i.e. Brookdale and Sunrise) were even formed. Voralto Living’s unmatched longevity in the industry, married with today’s research and tomorrow’s cutting-edge technology, uniquely position the company for extraordinary success.
The original Voralto Living company, Diversified Housing Services (“DHS”), was incorporated in 1977. Its original purpose was to develop and operate communities for low to moderate income seniors. Fast forward and the company was very successful in creating and fortifying its reputation locally in Houston, TX and also in Peachtree, GA. The company has become well-known in these regions for truly caring for its residents and employees. In the Fall of 2016, Carl Mittendorff purchased the operating company and all of the company’s senior living assets. The new leadership team is committed bringing the Voralto Living culture of care across the nation through strategic acquisitions and new developments. Previously, over the course of his 9-year leadership as CIO of his former company, Mr. Mittendorff grew the company from serving roughly 240 seniors in 2006 to well over 7,000 in 2016 and from employing roughly 350 employees in 2006 to well over 5,500 in 2016, growing from 4 assets to 40.
