Colonial Oaks at Campbell Park

Sharnice Taylor

Executive Director

In 2006 I began an educational path in nursing. I always thought being a nurse was my passion, but soon after realized there were other plans for me. A  friend of mine had a relative that had a Dementia causing disease and needed special attention. This lead me to self-study, volunteer, and change my career path. I became so intrigued by the brain, how it functions and how people can manage, even with cognitive impairment. I started volunteering more in Memory Care settings and was offered an employment opportunity that was the start of my climb in this industry. In 2011, I began working as a full-time caregiver for individuals with Dementia and became certified as an MIM, Memory Care Engagement Trainer through the Alzheimer’s Association. I began to attend trainings and seminars. Some of my favorite were conducted by Teepa Snow.  I realized that being in the Senior Care industry was a true passion of mine. It makes me happy to bring moments of joy to the senior population with the work that I do.  In 2014, I became a Memory Care Director, where  I holistically studied the Memory Care Engagement program and implemented a way of life for our residents that gave back the life families thought were lost. I wanted to expand to assist with the entire Assisted Living population and became certified as an Assisted Living Manager. I am proud to say that I am now working for an awesome company that cares about serving our residents, families, staff as well as our community around us. I love our Campbell Park Family!

Community Relations Director

I am so excited to be a member of the Colonial Oaks family! I’ve enjoyed serving as a resource in the senior living industry for the past 12 years. In 2013, I received my Assisted Living Administrator’s License, and I am also a Certified Dementia Practitioner. I have a special passion for memory care and can talk about it all day long! I’m driven by making a positive difference in every life I touch. I am passionate about preserving the independence and dignity of our aging seniors. The best part of my 12-year career is understanding the uniqueness of each person and the fascinating stories they share. When I’m away from the community, I enjoy the outdoors, including fishing. I also enjoy watching football, catching up with friends and writing a little poetry. Stop by and visit, I look forward getting to know you.
